• Campus access will be restricted to academically stranded students as outlined above, and the teachers, staff, assistants and cleaners required to support them. Campus entry points will be monitored by staff at all times.
• Screening notices will be posted at entry points advising students, faculty, staff, and other visitors not to enter if they or someone they have been in contact with has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or have symptoms such as fever, cough, or respiratory illness.
• All students, faculty and staff and other visitors will be required to complete a health screening prior to every instance of campus entry consistent with screening guidelines by local public health officials.
• Touch-less temperature checks will be taken of everyone prior to being permitted entry into the campus.

• All students are provided with training and must pass a CMU's Health, Safety and Sanitization Test prior to attending in-person studies on campus.
• All students, faculty, staff, and other visitors are required to wear a face mask to enter the campus.
• All students, faculty, staff, and other visitors are required to sanitize their hands to enter the campus.
• CMU ensures adequate access to soap and water. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers have been placed at all building, classroom and office entrances/exits.
• Reminders for everyone to wash and/or sanitize their hands and abide by safe practices are posted throughout the building.
• CMU has increased the frequency and extensiveness of cleaning and disinfecting activities, and ensures high touch areas (such as door handles, switch plates, faucets, stair railings, elevator buttons, etc.) are frequently disinfected with Health Canada approved products (at least every 4 hours).

• CMU has implemented measures to ensure physical distancing and other safety requirements.  CMU regularly informs and reminds students, faculty and staff of all safety protocols.  Signage and notices have been posted throughout our campuses to remind everyone on site of these requirements.
• Arrival, break, and departure times are staggered to facilitate physical distancing upon entry/exit for faculty, staff, and students.
• Classrooms and labs have been reconfigured and the number of student workstations per room have been reduced to ensure safe distancing. Safe distancing floor decals and other safety signage have been posted throughout the campus.
• Plexiglass partitions have been installed to separate student workstations for added protection.
• Students are assigned dedicated classrooms and workstations for the duration of their in-person studies in each course.
• Students are assigned lockers in close proximity to their dedicated classroom to minimize traffic and the risk of exposure on campus
• All campus washrooms have been restricted to single person use.
• Elevator use is restricted to one person at a time for accessibility reasons or for moving equipment.
• Student lounges have been closed to minimize the risk of exposure.  Students may take their breaks at their safely distanced, dedicated workstations separated by plexiglass partitions or off-site.
• Student coat rooms have been closed and coat racks have been placed in spacious areas near classrooms.
• Management, staff, and faculty have been trained and have oversight responsibility to ensure compliance with physical distancing and other public health measures throughout CMU's campuses.

• CMU has implemented enhanced cleaning protocols for the safe use of tools, equipment, and other shared items used in teaching settings in accordance with Public Health Ontario's Cleaning and Disinfection for Public Settings guidance document.
• In addition to routine cleaning, surfaces that have frequent contact with hands are cleaned and disinfected at least twice per day and when visibly dirty.
• Students and instructors are provided with dedicated, labelled containers for their clean and used/soiled tools to minimize potential contamination.
• CMU instructors further guide and oversee their students to thoroughly clean and sanitize products, tools, and workspaces in each course before and after each use in accordance with industry protocols and local health authority guidelines.

• All students are provided with training and must pass CMU's Health, Safety and Sanitization Test prior to attending in-person studies on campus.
• CMU ensures students use face coverings (i.e., non-medical masks and face shields) to protect others around them when physical distancing is challenging or not possible.
• If physical distance and separation cannot be maintained, faculty, students and staff are required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) consisting of appropriate face masks, face shields or eye protection and/or nitrile gloves.
• CMU ensures that all staff, teachers, and students are instructed and trained on the use, care, and limitations of the PPE that they use.
• Respirators, goggles, and gloves are provided for work in the lab where they are required for occupational health and safety.

• When alerts or reports of suspected virus contamination are received, CMU will arrange to have its janitorial and maintenance team (MCA Group) conduct deep cleaning and disinfection of the space using Health Canada approved, non-toxic and eco-friendly products.
• Cleaning and disinfecting will include Ultra-Low-Volume (ULV) Fogging technology in the treatment of pandemic outbreak-impacted spaces.

Spaces will be ventilated post-cleaning and typically available for use within two to four hours.

An Incident Report Policy and Case Management Protocols have been developed to manage possible or confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the CMU community and to respond to other urgent scenarios related to COVID-19.

• The Incident Management Team meets at least twice a week to review information on the status of any possible or known cases of COVID-19, and to discuss any required changes to campus operations and communications. Donna Takacs, President of CMU College, and Liz Caven, Manager of Operations & Student Services, participate in these regular meetings.
• The Incident Management Team closely monitors all local and provincial health authority guidelines.  They work closely with Toronto Public Health officials when and as required, and the health and safety of the CMU community have been and will continue to be the primary factors in all decision making.
• In the case of a suspected or known COVID-19 case, the President will make the decision to activate the Incident Management Team, which will operate in accordance with CMU's Emergency Management Plan.
• All decisions regarding changes to campus operations in response to COVID-19 incidents will be determined by the President, in consultation with members of the Incident Management Team and local public health officials.
• The Incident Management Team has successfully completed several scenario exercises to ensure that CMU College can swiftly and effectively respond to any incidences of COVID-19 within our community.

• Anyone who becomes aware of a confirmed case on campus should immediately inform Donna Takacs, President ([email protected]; tel. 416-698-6739 ext.40), and/or Liz Caven, Manager of Operations & Student Services ([email protected]; tel. 416-698-6739 ext. 42), who will contact Toronto Public Health and alert the Incident Management Team.
• There are legal restrictions to sharing personal health information under the Personal Health Information Privacy Act. If a member of the CMU community is notified of a confirmed or potential positive case, including a notice from someone who is self-reporting, any identifying personal information must be removed in emails.
• Depending on capacity, Toronto Public Health officials will either contact any individuals impacted by a confirmed positive case as part of their contact tracing protocol or provide the individual diagnosed with COVID-19 with instructions on how they can notify their high-risk contacts.  An individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 may request that CMU contact any high-risk contacts within the CMU community on their behalf.
• The Incident Management Team will determine the appropriate communications in consultation with Toronto Public Health. If it is determined that CMU should issue a statement publicly, the statement will be posted on CMU's website and may also be pushed out on CMU's social media platforms, or, in the instance of media inquiries, provided directly to the media outlet(s). All subsequent communications will continue to be placed on CMU's website and updated as required or advised by the Incident Management Team.

To date, we have had one case of a local student who had been on campus and tested positive for COVID-19.  The Incident Management Team took immediate action in consultation with Toronto Public Health and in accordance with CMU's Emergency Management Plan.  All those who had been at risk of exposure were promptly and appropriately notified, provided with guidance, self-isolated for 14 days, and self-monitored for symptoms without further incident.  Deep cleaning and disinfection of the affected facilities, including ULV Fogging, was done immediately per CMU Emergency Management Plan cleaning protocols.

• CMU has completed a thorough review and analysis to assess the potential risks of viral transmission.  This has informed our plan to implement enhanced health and safety measures to reduce the risks of exposure.
• CMU will continue to regularly monitor and assess both the risks to our community and the controls we have in place.  We will update our emergency preparedness plans and controls if and as may be required with the utmost urgency, and we will share all updates regularly with MCU and local health authorities.
• All students are provided with a comprehensive orientation session (online and/or in-person) explaining health and safety protocols, policies and procedures at the start of their program.  They are reminded and/or provided with updates in each of their program courses.
