Academic Requirements

To apply to CMU, you must either:

  •  Have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or its equivalent, or
  •  Be 18 years of age or older and pass an SLE (Scholastic Level Exam)
Financial Assistance

Canadian student loans are not available for international students. Please get in touch with your government’s Ministry of Education to learn more about student loans in your country.

Study Permits

At this time the Canadian Government has made changes to their student visa policies that will ONLY allow International Students to study at CMU on a visitor's visa or eTa. 

Study permits are NOT REQUIRED for the following programs

Global Makeup Artist Diploma

Total Fashion Makeup Artist Diploma

Digital Effects Makeup Artist Diploma

Fashion Photographic Makeup Artist Certificate

Creature Design Certificate

Work Permits

Be eligible for a post-graduate work permit through our Pathways Partnership with Yorkville University. Apply your CMU College diploma toward a 3-year Bachelor of Creative Arts degree at Yorkville University.

CMU is a Canadian Designated Learning Institute.  As a DLI, international students who have a valid study permit may work up to 20 hours per week off-campus without the need of a work permit.

How to Apply
  1. Complete and submit our online application form
  2. Pay the $250 CAD Application Processing fee*
  3. Complete your online Scholastic Equivalency test** 

*$250 Application Fee is deducted from tuition and is not an additional fee.
