How to Apply

CMU offers start dates throughout the year for our diploma and certificate programs. Once you have selected your intended start date, you may submit an application to CMU through our website. Please note that a $500 application fee is required to process your application.

Canadian Students

To apply to CMU, you must either:

  • Have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or its equivalent, or
  • Be 18 years of age or older and pass a SLE (Scholastic Level Exam).

International Students

CMU welcomes international students. We are proud that aspiring makeup artists from around the world come to CMU to pursue their dreams. Our alumni have worked throughout the world and many contribute to the global makeup industry.

We are always available to help our international students settle in and to answer any questions they might have.

Financial Assistance

CMU is an OSAP-eligible school for its diploma programs. Government student loans are available to Canadian students who qualify as permanent residents, citizens, landed immigrants, or protected persons. We are recognized in all Canadian provinces and provincial loans can be obtained to attend. We recommend that you apply for provincial assistance well before your start date.

Tuition & Student Fees

A harmonized sales tax (HST) of 13% is applicable to all student kit and textbook fees. HST does not apply to tuition fees.

CMU tuition fees are quoted in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and are subject to change. Both tuition fees and student kits must be paid in CAD. Any refunds or overpayment will be paid in CAD.

Credit card payments are only accepted for the initial application deposit and for the second deposit for CMU’s diploma programs. Additional payments can be made via email transfer, cheque, bank draft, or wire transfer (for international students). Interac email transfers can be sent to [email protected] using the password cmucollege (all lowercase, no spaces).
