If you have seen the 3D bus ads for Kubo and the Two Strings around Toronto, then you have seen the work of CMU’s ZBrush instructor, Paul Wollenzien. Using the digital sculpting program, ZBrush, Paul modelled and posed the origami birds and prepared them for the 3D printing process – notably reflecting the films extensive use of 3D printing. You can read more about the project, HERE.

Paul is currently teaching ZBrush in our 17 week Creature and Character Design program. This program prepares students to work digitally and with physical material to create realistic creatures and characters for film, television, gaming and animation. This course also focuses on the 3D scanning and 3D printing processes. For more information on the program, or to schedule a tour, please click HERE.
