CMU introduces a new groundbreaking diploma program, The Digital Makeup Effects Artist Program: Creature and Character Design. This 17-week program is the first of its kind in Canada, and is the next step in an evolving discipline that will meet future industry demands to provide skilled creature and character designers who are fully conversant in both practical and digital makeup effects and design. Students will begin by studying life drawing, figurative sculpting and Photoshop as a foundation to learn how to 3D digitally model using ZBrush and advanced techniques and processes to sculpt their own creature. The program will prepare students to design and create creatures and characters using both digital and practical methods while understanding 3D scanning and 3D printing workflows.
